Privacy Policy

Contract Clues is a contract reference tool for commercial film and television production professionals. The service is available at https://www.contractclues.com/login. For privacy-related questions, contact us at brianandfranny@gmail.com.

We are headquartered in the State of California and are subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and, where applicable, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

We collect information you provide directly and information generated by your use of the service.

Account information:

• —Email address (used for authentication via Supabase)
• —Password (hashed; we never store plaintext passwords)

Profile information (optional, provided by you):

• —Display name
• —Job position / title
• —Union affiliation
• —Home state

Usage data generated automatically:

• —Search queries you submit
• —AI-generated answers associated with your queries
• —Answers you save or pin
• —Answers you flag as incorrect or unhelpful

We use the information we collect to:

• —Authenticate your account and maintain your session
• —Personalize AI-generated answers based on your stated position and union (only when you ask first-person questions)
• —Save and retrieve your bookmarked answers
• —Review flagged answers to improve accuracy and correct errors
• —Communicate with you about your account if needed
• —Comply with applicable law

We do not use your data to train AI models, build advertising profiles, or share your queries or answers with any third party except as described in Section 5.

Contract Clues uses Anthropic’s Claude API to generate answers from union contract excerpts. When you submit a search, your query and relevant contract text are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate a response. This transmission is subject to Anthropic’s Privacy Policy.

Your profile information (position and union) may be included in the API request context when you ask a first-person question (e.g., “What is my turnaround time?”). It is not included for general third-party questions.

We use the following third-party services to operate Contract Clues. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies:

• —Supabase — authentication, database, and storage
• —Vercel — web hosting and serverless functions
• —Anthropic — AI answer generation
• —OpenAI — text embedding for contract search

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties.

We retain your account information and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Flagged answer logs may be retained for up to 12 months for quality review purposes and are then deleted.

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA and CPRA:

• —Right to Know — You may request a copy of the personal information we have collected about you.
• —Right to Delete — You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
• —Right to Correct — You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
• —Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing — We do not sell or share your personal information, so this right does not apply.
• —Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords, and row-level security policies on our database. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Contract Clues is intended for professional use by adults in the film and television production industry. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date above. Your continued use of Contract Clues after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
